Acme Dental LLC Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 28, 2026

Who we are

Acme Dental LLC ("we", "us", "our") operates the website at https://acmedental.example.com and the related text messaging program. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with and the choices you have. Contact: Acme Dental LLC, 123 Main Street, Springfield, IL 62701. Email: privacy@acmedental.example.com. Phone: (555) 010-0100.

Information we collect

We collect information in three ways:

  • Information you give us, such as your name, email address, mailing address and mobile phone number when you fill in a form, make a purchase, book an appointment, contact us or opt in to text messages.
  • Information collected automatically when you use our website, such as your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you view and the links you click. This may be collected through cookies and similar technologies.
  • Information from your interactions with our messages, such as whether a message was delivered and any replies you send, including STOP and HELP requests.

How we use information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide our products and services and respond to your requests.
  • Send you appointment reminders and marketing and promotional messages by text message, where you have opted in.
  • Operate, improve and secure our website and services.
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.

SMS and text messaging

If you opt in to receive text messages from Acme Dental LLC, we will use your mobile phone number to send you appointment reminders and marketing and promotional messages. Message frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Consent is not a condition of purchase.

You can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message. After you send STOP, we will send one confirmation message and no further messages unless you opt in again. Reply HELP for help, or contact us using the details in this policy.

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.

We may share your mobile number with the messaging platform and the mobile carriers that deliver our messages, solely for the purpose of delivering them. These providers are not permitted to use your number for their own marketing.

How we share information

We share personal information only in the following cases:

  • With service providers that help us operate our business, such as hosting, payment, scheduling, email and messaging platforms. They may use the information only to provide services to us.
  • When required by law, regulation, legal process or a government request, or to protect the rights, property or safety of our business, our customers or others.
  • In connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, in which case we will notify you of any change in how your information is handled.

Data retention

We keep personal information for as long as needed to provide our services and for legitimate business purposes, such as keeping records of your consent to receive text messages, resolving disputes and meeting legal requirements. Opt-out records are kept so that we do not message you again.

Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your choices

You have the following choices about your information:

  • Text messages: reply STOP to any message to opt out, or contact us using the details below.
  • Email: use the unsubscribe link in any marketing email.
  • Cookies: most browsers let you block or delete cookies in their settings.
  • Access, correction and deletion: contact us to request access to, correction of or deletion of your personal information. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under applicable privacy law.

Children

Our website and messaging program are not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The effective date at the top shows when it was last changed. Continued use of our website or messaging program after a change means you accept the updated policy.

Checklist

How to use the 10dlc privacy policy

  1. 01

Enter your legal business name exactly as it appears in your brand registration, plus your website, address, contact email and phone number.

  2. 02

Set the effective date and tick the kinds of messages you send. The SMS section uses them to describe your program.

  3. 03

Review the policy in the preview. Switch to the SMS terms tab if you also need a terms page, or to the SMS clause tab if you only need the SMS section for an existing policy.

  4. 04

Download the .html file to publish as a page, or the .txt file to paste into your website builder. Host it on the same domain as your sign-up form.

  5. 05

Link the policy from your site footer and from the text next to your consent checkbox, then have a qualified adviser review it.

Telemetry

How it works

Campaign reviewers open the privacy policy linked from your website and look for specific statements. The generator builds a complete, general-purpose privacy policy with an SMS section that contains all of them, in the order reviewers expect. The two sentences that cause the most rejections when missing are always included, word for word:

"No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes."

"All the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties."

SMS section = message types + frequency + "Msg & data rates may apply" + STOP + HELP + the two sentences above + a note about the messaging platform and carriers

Worked example

For "Acme Dental LLC" at acmedental.example.com, sending appointment reminders and marketing messages, the policy has eleven sections: who we are, information we collect, how we use it, SMS and text messaging, how we share information, data retention, security, your choices, children, changes, and contact.

The SMS section reads, in part: "If you opt in to receive text messages from Acme Dental LLC, we will use your mobile phone number to send you appointment reminders and marketing and promotional messages. Message frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Consent is not a condition of purchase." The no-sharing sentences follow, and the clause ends by naming the messaging platform and carriers as delivery-only recipients of the number.

Why 10DLC registration needs a specific privacy policy

When you register an A2P 10DLC campaign, the registry and the carriers' reviewers check that the consent you collect will not be abused. The quickest way to check that is to read your privacy policy. A policy that allows phone numbers to be shared with partners for marketing, or that never mentions text messaging, is rejected. Twilio's documentation for error 30896 lists a privacy policy without the no-sharing statement, the message frequency or the rates disclosure as a direct cause.

This generator produces a policy that passes that read. It is deliberately general: it covers website analytics, forms and purchases as well as texting, so it can replace a policy you do not have yet. If you already have one you like, use the SMS clause tab and add just that section.

The sentence reviewers look for

The two-sentence statement about mobile information has become a de facto standard. Messaging platforms such as Twilio and Telnyx recommend it in their registration guides, and reviewers search for it. The first sentence promises that mobile information is not shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing. The second clarifies that any sharing categories listed elsewhere in the policy (for example "we share data with analytics providers") exclude text messaging opt-in data and consent. The generator always includes both, in the SMS section, and repeats them in the SMS terms.

The statement does not stop you from using a messaging platform to send texts. The policy says so explicitly in the next paragraph: the number may be shared with the platform and carriers solely to deliver messages, and they may not use it for their own marketing.

What else the policy covers

  • Who we are: the legal name, website and contact details, so the policy matches the brand registration.
  • Information we collect: what people give you, what is collected automatically, and interactions with messages including STOP and HELP.
  • How we use information and how we share it: service providers, legal requirements and business transfers, with the SMS carve-out.
  • Data retention: including a line about keeping consent and opt-out records, which reviewers like to see.
  • Your choices: STOP for texts, unsubscribe links for email, cookie settings, and access or deletion requests.
  • Children, changes and contact: the standard closing sections.

Publishing the policy so reviewers can find it

Host the policy at a public URL on the same domain as your sign-up form, for example yoursite.com/privacy. Do not put it behind a login, in a PDF that needs a download, or on a third-party page. Link it from the footer of every page and from the text next to your consent checkbox. When you fill in the campaign form, paste the same URL into the privacy policy field.

The .html download is a complete standalone page with minimal styling that you can upload as it is. The .txt download is for pasting into a website builder's page editor; the headings are in capitals so they are easy to spot and format. Keep the effective date current when you change the policy.

Once the policy is live, the SMS terms generator produces the companion terms page, the checkbox builder produces a form that links to both, and the website compliance checker confirms nothing is missing before you submit.

Not legal advice, and how to use it responsibly

The generated policy reflects what messaging reviewers look for and common US practice. It is not tailored to your state, your industry or the laws of other countries where your customers may live. If you handle health, financial or children's data, or you operate in the EU, the UK, Canada or Australia, you will need additional sections and a lawyer's review. Treat the output as a solid, SMS-ready first draft rather than a finished legal document.

Frequently asked questions

Q01 Does my privacy policy really need the "no mobile information will be shared" sentence?

It is the single statement reviewers look for most often, and its absence is listed as a cause of campaign rejection by major platforms. The generator always includes it in the SMS section of the policy and in the SMS terms.

Q02 I already have a privacy policy. Can I add just the SMS part?

Yes. Open the "SMS clause only" tab and copy the section into your existing policy under its own heading. Check that nothing elsewhere in your policy says phone numbers may be shared for marketing.

Q03 Which business name should I use?

The legal name that matches your EIN and your brand registration, for example "Acme Dental LLC" rather than "Acme Dental". Reviewers compare the policy, the website and the registration, and mismatches are a common rejection reason.

Q04 Where should I host the policy?

On your own domain, the same one as your sign-up form, at a public URL that loads without a login. Link it from your site footer and from the consent checkbox. Paste that URL into the campaign registration form.

Q05 What is the difference between the privacy policy and the SMS terms?

The privacy policy explains what you collect and how you handle it. The SMS terms describe the texting program itself: what messages are sent, how often, what it costs, how to opt out and get help, and that carriers are not liable for delivery. Reviewers expect both, and the generator produces both from the same inputs.

Q06 Is anything I type stored on your servers?

No. The policy is generated in your browser and the downloads are created on your device. Nothing you enter is uploaded.
